Morning Stroll with Birds

Join LPBLT and Samreen Munim from Birds Canada for a morning stroll and birdwatching at the Spring Arbour Farm Nature Reserve! You'll have a chance to see many species of birds, including those returning from their long spring migrations. Plus, enjoy a walk on our gorgeous trails and take in the sights, sounds and smells of spring!

Join us with Leanne Gauthier-Helmer as she describes the 11 different species of frogs found here in Ontario, as well as our two species of toads. Topics to be included are lifestyle, habitats, calls, and key identify factors. The presentation will be concluded with a short walk around the Shirley and George Pond Nature Reserve in the hopes of practicing our identification skills, so please wear comfortable shoes.

With the help of moth expert, Ecological Restoration Practitioner, and Climate Hero; Mary Gartshore, and specialized equipment, we'll observe these winged creatures up close and learn about their unique characteristics and behaviors.

Butterfly Habitat Hike

Get up close and personal as we net a few butterflies for close observation and learn about a butterfly that has been reintroduced to Norfolk County after disappearing over 30 years ago.
